Am I going insane? I feel like a conspiracy peddling nutjob as of recent. Here's the story; at the start of this year the phone box at the end of the street had a notice put up to say that it was going to be decomissioned, I thought this strange as Ofcom rules prevent BT from removing payphones in areas with poor mobile signal or if 52 calls were made from it in the last year. I investigated and noticed that the phone box had 2 numbers inside, one of which was not correct, and the phone was not able to make calls but could recieve them, the icon on the display suggesting that it was under maintenance when it clearly was not. Both of these factors surely must contribute to someone deciding not to use the phone? I think BT is neglecting these phone boxes on purpose so they can legally remove them and save money, although I would argue that the phone should have remained due to being in an area with patchy signal, which leasd to my next point Maybe what, a month after the removal of the phone at the end of the road, began a 2 month signal blackout for some residents, particularly those of us on the Giffgaff/O2 netwrok. Consstant reports led to no action on it being fixed, and when I finally decided to change providers the same day that giffgaff emailed me o say it was the tenth anniversary of my custom, signal came back hours after I refunded my credit and bought a plan with a different network. What the heck is going on?
